Police seized 292 grams of suspected heroin and arrested one drug peddler from Kalibari Railway colony in upper Assam’s Dibrugarh town on Saturday.

The drug peddler has been identified as Buli Dey.

The operation was led by DSP Achurya Jibon Baruah and the officer-in-charge of Dibrugarh police station Bularam Terong.

The value of the drugs seized is said to be around Rs 80 lakh.

Dibrugarh officer in charge Bularam Terong said, “After getting a tip-off, we have conducted a raid and seized the contraband drugs from Kalibari Railway colony and arrested one drug peddler. Further investigation is going on.”

“Recently, we have conducted many raids in Dibrugarh and seized the contraband items. So, far we have arrested many drug peddlers from Dibrugarh” he said.
