Guwahati: The district administration on February 10 released the final electoral roll for Dhubri district, marking a key step in preparations for the 2026 Assam Assembly elections.

Officials published the roll after completing the Special Amendment process. They unveiled it at a high-level meeting held at the Dhubri District Commissionerโ€™s office.

District Commissioner Nabadeep Pathak chaired the meeting. Additional Commissioner Debajyoti Gogoi and Additional Superintendent of Police Deepjyoti Talukdar attended the event.

Representatives of recognised political parties and members of the media were also present. The wide participation highlighted the administrationโ€™s focus on transparency in the revision process.

According to the final roll, Dhubri district now has 12,17,797 registered voters. Officials said Booth Level Officers carried out an intensive door-to-door verification drive.

The exercise removed duplicate and ineligible entries ensuring the inclusion of all eligible citizens who turned 18 on or before January 1, 2026.

The administration also released constituency-wise voter figures. Golakganj (No. 6) has 2,03,876 voters. Gauripur (No. 7) accounts for 3,10,594 electors. Dhubri (No. 8) has 2,31,136 registered voters. Birsingh Jarua (No. 9) stands at 2,80,461. Bilasipara (No. 10) has 1,91,730 voters.

Addressing the meeting, DC Pathak said officials carried out the Special Amendment with a strong focus on accuracy and transparency. He said the administration coordinated closely with political parties at every stage.

The aim, he added, was to ensure no eligible voter was left out while protecting the integrity of the electoral roll. He said the process reflects the Election Commissionโ€™s commitment to free and fair elections.

With the final roll now in place, Dhubri district has entered the next phase of poll preparedness. The administration has shared copies of the electoral roll with all political parties for scrutiny ahead of the elections. It has also urged voters to verify their details at polling stations or through the Election Commissionโ€™s official portal.

Officials said the completion of the Special Revision has strengthened the groundwork for the upcoming polls. They added that the final voter list will play a key role in shaping campaign strategies in one of Assamโ€™s politically significant districts.
