Dibrugarh: The Dibrugarh Hanumanbax Surajmall Kanoi (DHSK) College will confer the prestigious ‘Shiksha Sirumoni’ award on Governing Body member and noted social worker, industrialist, and educationist Jyoti Prasad Kanoi on the occasion of the 77th Republic Day.
Several other eminent personalities will also be felicitated for their contributions across diverse fields. Dibrugarh Radio Station programme executive and announcer Parasha Konwar will receive the ‘Kantha Saurav’ award, while popular radio announcer and teacher Moitrayee Phukan will be honoured with the ‘Suriya Kantha’ title. Former student and social worker Ahmed Ali Aayubi will be conferred the ‘Manab Bandhu’ award.
DHSK College Principal Sashi Kanta Saikia said faculty members completing 25 years of service—marking their silver jubilee will also be recognised. They include Lamkholal Doungel, Mridul Sarma, Rajib Lochan Bora, Sanchita Boruah, Aditya Dahal, Aditi Konwar Gogoi, and Ananta Teron.
The event will further honour faculty members Apurba Dutta and Amitav Doley for bringing accolades to the institution, alongside several other staff for dedicated service.
Former students and cultural figures will also be felicitated, including teacher, social worker and cultural activist Beauty Lekharu Saikia, cultural worker Sutapa Choudhury, poet and writer Minakhi Das Baruah, and poet-writer Bitumoni Gogoi.
The programme will additionally recognise numerous employees and teachers, reflecting the college’s commitment to academic excellence, cultural enrichment, and social service.
