Six more positive patients have succumbed to COVID19 infections in Assam on Monday, taking the state’s death toll to 151.

Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in his latest tweet on the state’s COVID19 status said: “Six more COVID patients succumbed to their infections.”

The health minister informed that the COVID19 victims are from Sonitpur, Karimganj, Dibrugarh, and Kamrup Metro districts.

The COVID19 victims have been identified as 52-year-old Sanjib Kumar Bhuyan from Sonitpur; 70-year-old Subir Kumar Das from Karimganj; 58-year-old Salil Choudhury from Dibrugarh; 68-year-old Kali Santosh Bhattacharjee, 26-year-old Chandan Mahanta and 65-year-old Ashok K Choudhury from Kamrup Metro districts.

Assam so far has registered a total of 58,837 COVID19 positive cases.

With the demise of the 6 more positive patients, Assam currently has 16,358 active COVID19 cases while 3 positive cases migrated from the state.

On Sunday, COVID19 infections claimed the lives of 5 positive patients in Assam.

A total of 42,325 patients, who were earlier infected by COVID19, have been discharged from various hospitals or Covid Care Centres across Assam after they recovered from the disease.
