Assam registered 40 new COVID-19 positive cases on Monday.
Among the new cases, 31 are from Jorhat, three from Dhemaji, two each from Biswanath and Dhubri and one each from Lakhimpur and Dibrugarh.
With this, the total number of COVID-19 positive cases has gone up to 4158.

This was informed by state health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on his Twitter handle on Monday.
Sarma tweeted:

However, as on Monday, the State has a total of 2187 active cases.
The State has so far witnessed 1960 persons recovering from the deadly virus.
All these persons have already been discharged from various hospitals across the State.
The State recorded eight COVID-19 related deaths so far.
