Cotton University won the Red Ribbon Quiz Competition organised by the Assam State AIDS Control Society (ASACS) on Tuesday.

The competition was held at Srimanta Sankaradev Kalakshetra in Guwahati, maintaining Covid19 protocols.

The winning team qualified for the regional-level Red Ribbon Quiz Competition which will be conducted by the West Bengal AIDS Control Society (WBACS).

In the competition, the second prize was won by MC College, Barpeta and the third prize was won by Debraj Roy College, Golaghat.

The consolation prizes were won by Tezpur University, Abhayapuri College and Gurucharan College, Silchar.

“The Red Ribbon Quiz Competition was organised to create awareness amongst the college students across Assam,” Rajib Sarma, assistant director (publicity), Assam State AIDS Control Society (ASACS) said in a statement.

It was organized in four zones namely Lower Assam Zone, Upper Assam Zone, Central Assam Zone and Barak Valley Zone.

Eight teams participated in the state-level competition.

Joint secretary to the Assam government, health and family welfare department, J Patgiri, gave away the prizes, the statement said.

The winning teams received cash prizes, mementos and certificates.
