Assam Congress chief spokesperson and general secretary Mukul Sharma passed away in a private hospital in Guwahati on Monday.
He was 51and was suffering from liver disease.

Family sources said Sharma was recently diagnosed with cirrhosis of his liver and was admitted to Health City Hospital here, where he died at 11.10 am on Monday.
He suffered cardiac arrest on Saturday and was on ventilator support in the hospital for last two days.
Born and brought up in Guwahati, Sharma came to active party politics in 90’s when he was studying at Cotton College.

Sharma, who gained popularity as a good debater, became general secretary of Cotton College Students’ Union while doing graduation in the prestigious college.
Sharma, also an advocate of Gauhati High Court, leaves behind his wife, a son and a host of relatives and well-wishers.
