Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, while interacting with Gauhati University students on Thursday, urged them to work hard for cementing a strong future.

“You are the future of the country. The state government is working resolutely for the intellectual, physical and social development of the student community,” the CM said.

He further said the students have an important role to play in building a strong future of the nation.

A group of post-graduation students of GU’s Department of Modern Indian Languages & Literary Studies, Mass Communication and Journalism Department, Education, Economics, Mathematics, History, Zoology, Arabic, Information Technology Department interacted with the CM.

CM Sonowal also assured the students that he would take up the matter of various problems faced by economically underprivileged students studying at GU with the authorities concerned.

“I shall address the problems faced by the students with the state education department and GU authorities. We are committed to the equal development of the students,” Sonowal reiterated.

During the interaction, Sonowal also informed the students about various initiatives taken by both State and Central governments for the development of Assam.

The Assam CM also urged the students on the need to equip one with knowledge and skill to capture the 80 crore population market of ASEAN and BBIN countries through the Act East Policy
