Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal and state health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday called on Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi at Raj Bhavan and briefed him about the issues pertaining to the State.
The chief minister along with the health minister during the meeting informed the Governor about various measures that the State Government has taken to tackle the situation emanating from coronavirus outbreak.
They also briefed the Governor about the status of different welfare projects that the State Government has taken for all sections of the people of the State.
Meanwhile, Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi has appealed to all residents of the state to whole-heartedly support and adhere to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for voluntary observance of a self-imposed ‘Janta Curfew’ on Sunday in view of COVID-19 outbreak.
The Governor also urged all to stay at home from 7 am to 9 pm and lend their efforts to save the country from the scourge of novel coronavirus outbreak by containment and control of the spread of this pandemic.
Prof Mukhi said the global outbreak of COVID- 19, a novel strain of virus, has had a cascading effect on humanity.
