Gearing up to the ensuing parliamentary polls in Chirang district of Assam, the deputy commissioner and district election officer conducted orientation training for the zonal and sector officers in the conference hall of the deputy commissioner’s office on Sunday.
Conducting the training, deputy commissioner and district election officer Gautam Talukdar gave his valuable suggestions to the officers on what to do and what not to do highlighting the vital roles to be played by them during the election process.

Terming it last minute review meeting with the officers, he asked them to verify the accessibility of mobile network, availability of power connection, drinking water facility, toilet facility, road connectivity etc of the polling stations in their respective jurisdictions before the poll day to ensure hassle free conduct of election in the district.
He also asked the officers to ensure conducting of mock-poll before the commencement of polling process and stressed on conduct of more training on Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trial (VVPAT) among the public before going to the polls.
During the programme, master trainers M Choudhury and A Sarma also highlighted the do’s and don’ts for the zonal and Sector officers as per guidelines of the Election Commission of India.

In the training programme, ADCs Karmadev Brahma, A Goswami, Bipul Gogoi, election officer Jagadish Brahma, ACs Rinkhang Mashahary, Sangita Devi and Partha Pratim Goswami were also present.
