Keeping in view the Lok Sabha polls scheduled to be held in 2019, the Assam Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has geared up to hold its executive meeting in Majuli district on October 10 and October 11, 2018.
To discuss over the preparations for the State BJP’s executive meeting scheduled to be held in Majuli and make it a success, a party meeting was held in Kamalabari of Majuli, the largest inhabited river island of the world.
Informing this on his Twitter handle, the member of Parliament (MP) of the Lakhimpur Lok Sabha constituency, Pradan Baruah stated that he attended the party meeting held in Majuli’s Kamalabari for the proposed executive meeting of the State BJP.

It may be mentioned that Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and his Cabinet colleagues had a brainstorming session with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah in New Delhi on Saturday in view of the coming 2019 general elections.
During the meeting it was decided to hold a two-day-long State level working committee meeting of the party in Majuli on October 10 and October 11. “BJP president Amit Shah and several other central ministers will be present in the meeting,” sources said.
In the meeting, a detailed action plan, which needs to be implemented from October, has been chalked out.
Assam BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass, Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and organising secretary Phani Sharma were also present in the meeting that took place at the BJP headquarters in the national capital.
