In a bid to inculcate scientific temperament among the students, deputy commissioner of Assam’s Hojai, Tanmoy Pratim Borgohain along with Prabin Chandra Sarmah, inspector of schools, Nagaon inaugurated ‘Atal Tinkering Lab’ at Nilbagan Model Higher Secondary School on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, the deputy commissioner said this a initiative taken by the government for building scientific temperament, innovative ideas among the budding minds.
The deputy commissioner shared the objective of the scheme taken by government under the aegis of Niti Aayog of Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL).
He said ATL will foster curiosity, creativity, and imagination in young minds and inculcate skills such as design mindset, computational thinking, adaptive learning, physical computing etc.
Young children will get a chance to work with tools and equipment to understand what, how and why aspects of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math)
The deputy commissioner urged the students to use this lab properly and take utmost care of its valuable equipment.
Many other dignitaries spoke on this occasion and laid emphasis on education and technology.
At the very outset the guests were warmly welcomed by Faiz Mohammad Barbhuyan, principal of Nilbagan Model Higher Secondary School.
Notably, ATL is an approach of the Central Government to create an environment of scientific temperament, innovation, creativity among students.
It is a step towards a new India.
