Congress veteran and former union minister P Chidambaram has appealed all the anti-BJP parties in the Northeast to unite against the saffron party.

“Anti-BJP parties in Northeast must unite and fight together against the saffron party to overthrow it from power,” Chidambaram said.

Chidambaram was in Guwahati for the three-day state-level training camp of the Assam Congress held at the Srimanta Sankardev Kalakhetra.

Indicating at defection of Congress MLAs in Assam to the BJP Chidambaram said: “Politicians should adhere to the party ideologies even if it loses an election,”
