63 militants belonging to four rebel outfits will formally lay down arms in a ceremony on Monday in Guwahati.
The militants belong to 4 rebel outfits – United Liberation Front of Asom – Independent (ULFA-I), People’s Democratic Council of Karbi Longri (PDCK), Dimasa national Liberation Army (DNLA) and United People’s Liberation Front (UPLF).

The arms laying ceremony will be held at Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakhetra Auditorium in Guwahati.
All the 63 militants will formally lay down their arms in the ceremony on Monday and join the mainstream.
The event will begin at 3pm.

“A formal surrender cum arms laying ceremony by the members of ULFA-I, PDCK, DNLA and UPRF will be held on December 21 at Srmanta Sankardev Kalakhetra International Auditorium,” said Assam Police in a statement.
The arms laying ceremony will be presided over by Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.
Earlier in January, a total of 644 militants belonging to different insurgent outfits laid down their arms in a ceremony at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) auditorium.
This arms laying ceremony comes very close to the surrender of ULFA-I’s deputy Commander-in-Chief Drishti Rajkhowa.
Drishti Rajkhowa surrendered before the security agencies at an undisclosed location in Meghalaya late on November 11 night.
