Ten school children were injured on Tuesday when the school bus they were travelling in met with an accident at Laluk in North Assam’s Lakhimpur district.
The school bus (AS01DC 9296) of Gyan Academy, Harmutty which were transporting 30 students lost control and skidded off the Lluk-Bihpuria road at Karunabari area under Laluk police station of the district.
The injured school children were rushed to the Laluk Model Hospital for treatment.
Locals alleged that rash driving by tree-wheeler rural taxis was the reason behind the accident.
The bus skidded of the road when it tried to avoid ramming a car as a three wheeler created obstruction by rash driving.
In a separate incident, an abandoned truck was found on Laluk-Bihpuria state highway in Lakhimpur’s Islampur on Monday evening.
The truck with registration number NL01C 2145 was originally coming from Kolkata carrying 30 tonnes of iron rod when it was hijacked by some miscreants by pulling out the driver.
However, the truck was empty when it was found in abandoned state in Islampur.
