All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief and Dhubri Lok Sabha MP Maulana Badruddin Ajmal has been elected president of the Assam State Jamiat Ulama for the third consecutive term.

The news has been confirmed by Chenga MLA and AIUDF leader Ashraful Hussain.

MLA Hussain has congratulated parliamentarian Ajmal for being elected as the state Jamiat Ulama’s president for the third time.

“Congratulations and Best wishes to @BadruddinAjmal Sahab on being elected the President of Assam State Jamiat Ulama for the third consecutive term. Wishing you more power to work for the oppressed, downtrodden and deprived section of the society,” MLA Hussain wrote on his Twitter handle.

The Jamiat Ulama came on the news recently after Maulana Fazlul Karim, who is a secretary of the state unit of the Jamiat-e-Ulama and also a general secretary of state’s opposition All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF), was arrested for supporting the Taliban in Afghanistan.
