Eight more positive patients have succumbed to COVID19 infections in Assam on Sunday, taking the state’s death toll to 360.

The news has been confirmed by Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in his latest tweet on the state’s COVID19 status on Sunday.

The health minister informed that the COVID19 victims are from Sivasagar, Lakhimpur, Nagaon, Kamrup Metro, Kokrajhar and Jorhat districts.

On Sunday, Sivasagar district has reported the deaths of two positive patients.

They have been identified as 58-year-old Sankor Sharma and 43-year Madhusmita Baruah.

The other deceased have been identified as 42-year-old Maina Das from Lakhimpur; 70-year-old Giribala Devi from Nagaon; 62-year-old Prasanta Kumar Borthakur and 62-year-old Prabnab Bhiwmick from Kamrup Metro; 73-year-old Hiranmoy Das from Kokrajhar and 92-year-old Dhaneswar Bora from Jorhat.

Assam so far has registered 1,23,922 COVID19 positive cases.

A total of 95,060 patients have been discharged from various hospitals and Covid care centres across Assam after their recovery so far.

With the demise of 8 more patients, Assam currently has 28,499 active COVID19 patients.
