Senior AGP MLA from Tezpur constituency Bridaban Goswami and BJP MP from Mangaldai, Dilip Saikia have testede COVID19 positive.

Conirming his COVID19 status, Lok Sabha MP, Dilip Saikia tweeted that he tested positive for the virus during test at the Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH).

“I have tested positive for COVID19 today at GMCH,” the first-time MP said on his Twitter handle.

The parliamentaruian has requested all those people, who came contact with him in the last week, to isolate thelselves and get tested for COVID19.

“I request the people who came in contact with me in the last week, to please self isolate and get tested for COVID-19,” Saikia said.

Meanwhile, Tezpur MLA Brindaban Goswami and his wife have also tested positive for the virus.

The former AGP minister along with his wife Labanya Goswami have reportedly been brought to Guwahati.

Assam has so far registered a total of 1,18,333 COVID19 positive cases.

The state reported a total of 3,054 new positive cases on Thursday.

A total of 1,971 patients, who were earlier infected by COVID19, discharged on Thursday, taking the total number of discharged patients in Assam to 90,697.

Assam currently has 27,303 active COVID19 cases.

The deadly disease has claimed the lives of 330 positive patients so far.
