On the day when Assam’s COVID19 tally increased to 1,23,922, a total of 2,343 more patients, who were earlier infected by COVID19, recovered from the disease.
Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in his latest tweet on the state’s COVID19 status said: “Discharge Alert. 2343 patients discharged today.”

The health minister also informed that more than 2,000 patients were discharged in the state for the second consecutive day.
Health minister Sarma lauded the team of Assam’s doctors.
With the release of 2,343 more patients, the total number of patients, who have been discharged from the hospitals or Covid care centres across Assam increased to 95,060.

Assam currently has 28,507 active COVID19 patients.
Meanwhile, 7 more positive patients died of COVID19 infection on Saturday, taking the state’s death toll to 352.
On Saturday, Assam registered 2,698 new COVID19 cases, taking the state’s overall tally to 1,23,922.
Assam’s positivity rate now stands at 7.67%, the health minister informed.
The patients who died of COVID19 infection in Assam were from Kamrup Metro, Charaideo, Sivasagar, Hailakandi, Jorhat and Darrang districts.
The COVID19 vcitims have been identified as Rajen Kakoty (80) of Kamrup Metro; Prafulla Bora (65) of Charaideo; Sinaram Chetia (54) of Sivasagar; Faizul Islam Laskar (62) of Hailakandi; Debojani Neog (70) of Jorhat; Badal Ch Roy (63) and Rostam Ali (63) of Darrang.
