Seven more positive patients died of COVID19 infection on Saturday, taking the state’s death toll to 352 while 2,698 new cases have been detected.

Confirming the detection of the new cases, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet on Saturday night said the new cases have been detected out of 35,147 tests.

“Alert ~ 2698 #COVID cases detected today out of 35147 tests done in last 24 hours,” health minister Sarma said.

Assam’s positivity rate now stands at 7.67%, the health minister informed.

Out of the new cases, Kamrup M has reported 700 cases, Bongaigaon 190, Lakhimpur 151 and Kamrup Rural district has reported 142 cases.

Assam so far has registered a total of 1,23,922.

A total of 92,717 patients have recovered from the disease in the state so far.

With the new cases, the number of the state’s active patients in the state stands at 30,850.

Meanwhile, Assam has recorded 7 more COVID19 deaths, taking the state’s death toll to 352 on Saturday.

Informing about the demise of 7 more positive patients due to COVID19 infection, health minister Sarma in another tweet on Saturday said the deceased are from Kamrup Metro, Charaideo, Sivasagar, Hailakandi, Jorhat and Darrang districts.

The COVID19 victims have been identified as Rajen Kakoty (80) of Kamrup Metro; Prafulla Bora (65) of Charaideo; Sinaram Chetia (54) of Sivasagar; Faizul Islam Laskar (62) of Hailakandi; Debojani Neog (70) of Jorhat; Badal Ch Roy (63) and Rostam Ali (63) of Darrang.
