Three more Covid19 patients succumbed to the infection in Assam on Monday, taking the state’s death toll to 1,020 while the total tally increased to 2,15,510 after the detection of 101 new cases.
Informing about the new cases registered in Assam on his Twitter handle, health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday night said the cases were detected out of 24,139 tests.

The state’s positivity rate is 0.42%, the health minister informed.
“101 Cases detected out of 24139 tests conducted today with positivity rate of 0.42%,” Sarma tweeted.
Of the new cases, the Kamrup Metro district has reported 35 cases.

Meanwhile, 93 more patients, who were earlier infected by the Covid19 infection, were discharged on Monday.
So far, a total of 2,10,962 patients have recovered from the disease in Assam.
The percentage of the recovered cases in Assam is 97.89%.
Assam currently has 3,525 active Covid19 patients, which is 1.63% of the total cases registered in the state.
With the demise of three more patients on Monday, Assam’s death toll increased to 1,020.
The state’s death rate stands at 0.47%.
Sharing the news of the demise of three more patients, health minister Sarma tweeted on Monday: “Sad to share the demise of three #COVID patients.”
The deceased have been identified as Karna Khatniar (75) of Barpeta, Madam Kafle (73) of Sonitpur and Samser Ali (66) of Kamrup Metro.
