Assam has registered 2 more COVID-19 deaths on Monday, taking the state’s toll to 995.
Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in his latest tweet on the state’s COVID-19 update on Monday said, “Sad to share the demise of 3 #COVID patients today.”
The positive patients, who have succumbed to COVID-19 on Monday, are from Tinsukia and Kamrup Metro districts.
The deceased have been identified as Krishna Goswami (58) of Tinsukia and Krishna Thapa (65) of Kamrup Metro, the health minister informed.

On the other hand, fresh 166 COVID-19 cases were detected in Assam on Monday, taking the total number of positive cases in the State up to 2,13,925.
The fresh 166 cases were detected out of 29,475 samples that were tested.
Out of the total cases recorded so far 3,585 are active cases.
Of the total positive cases, 2,09,342 patients have returned home after their recovery.
On Monday, as many as 131 patients were discharged from different hospitals in the State after their recovery.
