On the day when Assam’s COVID19 tally increased to 1,25,459 on Sunday, a total of 1,763 patients, who were earlier infected by the virus, have been discharged in the state after their recovery.
Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in his latest tweet on the state’s COVID19 status on Sunday night said: “Discharge Alert. 1763 patients discharged today.”
“May God bless all recovered patients & their families with good health & long life,” health minister Sarma said.
With the release of 1,763 more patients, the total number of discharged patients from the hospitals or Covid care centres across Assam increased to 96,823 on Sunday.
Assam currently has 28,273 active COVID19 patients.
On Sunday, Assam registered 1,537 new COVID19 positive cases, taking the state’s overall tally to 1,25,459.

Confirming the news, health minister Sarma in an earlier tweet on Sunday said the new cases have been detected out of 23,336 tests.
“Alert ~ 1537 #COVID cases detected today out of 23336 tests done in last 24 hours,” health minister Sarma tweeted.
Eight more positive patients succumbed to COVID19 infections in Assam on Sunday, taking the state’s death toll to 360.

The deceased are from Sivasagar, Lakhimpur, Nagaon, Kamrup Metro, Kokrajhar and Jorhat districts.
