GUWAHATI: Two youths from Shillong in Meghalaya have drowned in the Brahmaputra River in Guwahati, Assam.
The unfortunate incident has been reported from Chandrapur area in Guwahati city of Assam.

The two youths from Shillong in Meghalaya have drowned in the Brahmaputra River in Guwahati city of Assam while taking bath.
The two Shillong youths have been identified as Hibor Lalu and Rahul Chettri.
The duo had gone to the area to take bath in the Brahmaputra River on Monday (June 5) afternoon and have been reported to be missing since then.

The search and rescue teams have been able to retrieve the body of Hibor Lalu.

However, there are no trace of the other youth Rahul Chettri.
The two youths had arrived in Guwahati, Assam from Shillong in Meghalaya with six other friends.
Then they went to Chandrapur in Guwahati, Assam to take a bath in the Brahmaputra River.
On receiving no update from the two, their friends reported the matter to the authorities, who immediately swung into action.
