The Sasastra Seema Bal (SSB) on Thursday celebrated it’s 55th Anniversary Day at it’s Frontier Headquarters located at Bezpara, (Debendra Nagar) near Tezpur of Assam’s Sonitpur district.
P Stobdan, Inspector General of Frontier HQ, Tezpur graced the occasion as the chief guest.

Six marching contingents from different battalions was the hallmark of show. The march past, dog show and cultural programme presented by different schools and local clubs was the major attraction of the event which was enjoyed by around 2000 people including ex-service men, children from different schools, college students and family members of jawans and officers.
Addressing the event, chief guest of the raising day of the national security agency P Stobdan, congratulated the jawans and officers for bringing laurels in every field for the frontier.
He specially appreciated the 23rd Battalion for able to achieve the award of best administrative battalion and the basket ball and volley ball teams for winning the inter frontier events.

During this programme, 12 officers and officials of SSB under Tezpur Frontier including Subrata Bose, Joint Area Organizer Angom Chaothoi Singh, Dy Commandant Deepak Kumar Sonar, ASI (GD) Mihir Kumar Das, ASI (GD) Hemanta Borah, HC (GD) Lalin Kumar Deori, NK (GD), Balwant Singh, HC (GD) W Janeswar Singh, HC (GD) Konchok Namdol, HC (GD) Biplab Chakraborti, HC (Armr) Vikash Narzary, CT (GD) Diganta Kumar Saharia were awarded with DG’s silver medal.
At the sideline of the programme, P Stobdan said that there is no any insurgency problem at present in the Indo-Bhutan border as per the inputs given by the intelligence agencies.
Earlier the very belt was disturbed by different militant groups which is now controlled by the security forces including SSB, he said.
“SSB in assistance of the4 administration of the Arunachal Pradesh is also successful in controlling narcotic related cases carried out by some elements in the border areas,” he further informed.
