The first VVPAT machine was replaced with another one as per the Election Commission of India (ECI) guidelines.
With the second machine, a mock poll was conducted by casting one vote against each of the five candidates and one NOTA vote. But the VVPAT slip did not drop.
“The matter was informed to ECI. The ECI then instructed to conduct re-polling in the said polling station,” the deputy commissioner said.
The re-poll will be conducted on April 24 from morning 7 am to evening 5 pm. On the counting day i.e. on May 23 all results have to be received from Control Unit. If in case the Control Unit shows some error, then counting of VVPAT slips will be done.
