From pandals with eco-friendly materials to pandals replicating Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) satellite lauch vehicle, puja committees across Assam’s Udalguri district has put every possible efforts to woo revelers with its innovative themes.

The Young Star Club, Sarabajanin Durga Puja Committee in Nobinpolly locality of Tangla town in Udalguri district has erected a massive pandal made completely out of bamboo materials.
“Keeping in sync with the Swach Bharat Abhiyan as well as ban on plastic, we decided to build the mandap out of eco-friendly materials, though we had to shell out a good amount,” president of the committee told NorthEast Now.

Speaking about the expected turnout this year, he said there will be more than 10,000 visitors every day adding that all the necessary security arrangement including roping in of volunteers for crowd management and CCTV cameras have been installed through the route leading the venue.
Going scientific, the Gandhuli Bazaar Durga Puja committee of Dimakuchi along the Indo-Bhutan border in Udalguri district has come up with a pandal replicating the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) ‘Chandrayan-2’ satellite lauch vehicle.
“We have contributed our pocket money,” said Sohan Sabar a committee member.
“There are 140 durga puja committees in Bhergaon sub-division of Udalguri with 40 in Tangla town,” he informed.

“We have taken every possible precautionary measure in terms of safety and security of the revelers,” said Bhergaon sub-divisional police officer (SDPO), Nirmal Ghosh.
“We have also tried to generate public awareness and appealed the public to avoid plastic,” Ghosh added.
