The Christian community in Diphu town organised Christmas carol service on Sunday and took out a car-cum-bike rally to mark Pre-Christmas celebrations in Diphu town.

The rally was organised by the United Christian Forum (UCF). Cars, bikes, auto-rickshaws and other types of vehicles were decorated with balloons, flowers and lights and took part in the carol service.

The rally was flagged off from the Christian English High School (CEHS) playground by UFC vice chairman Rev. Khoyasing Ronghang.

Earlier, prayer was offered by UCF chairman Rev. Y Athang.

The rally started at 2:30 pm from CEHS and went to DAV HS School road, then to Lorulangso Daily Market pass in front of Diphu Police Station to SBI, Lumding Road and in front of Post office, then proceeded to Longnit via Manja.

From Longnit, the rally returned to CEHS for a Christmas carol singing.

Choir and solo Christmas songs, choreography and skits were presented by different churches. Hmar Christian Fellowship also presented Christmas choir on the occasion.

General secretary of the Council Baptist Church in North East India (CBCNEI), Dr. Rev. Solomon Rongpi, was present as the the speaker. In his speech, Dr Rongpi stressed on the need to share Christmas message of love and peace with the people. He said the spirit of Christmas is the celebration of peace and love of God to mankind.

Hmar Christian Fellowship, Karbi Anglong Presbyterian Church, Catholic, Believers Church, Assembly of God, Baptist, Reformed Presbyterian and Free Evangelical Church of India took part in the programme.
