Infighting within the BJP in Dima Hasao has come to fore with the incident of attack on a section of district BJP leaders by another faction of BJP at Langting on Wednesday.

The incident has once again brought to fore the ongoing tussle between old and new BJP members in the district.

According to district BJP vice president Anup Langthasa, some of the BJP activists attacked them when they went to review the implementation of different Government schemes at Langting on Wednesday.

The Dima Hasao district BJP vice-president Anup Langthasa, senior BJP leader Banani Kamprai and Ibisuying Niyum had to face the wrath of the opposite lobby within the BJP at the party office at Langting.

Anup Langthasa admitted the incident of attack on them before Northeast Now.

Keeping in view the upcoming North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council’s (NCHAC) election, a fresh lobby politics has begun among the BJP activists in the district.

It may be mentioned that there has been a strong rivalry between BJP’s Hemen Langthasa faction and Galanjoy Thaosen faction at Langting.

However, the actual reason behind the Wednesday’s incident of attack at BJP office at Langting is yet to be ascertained. A section of the BJP activists pointed an accusing finger at the supporters of Galanjoy Thaosen behind the attack.
