Assam Excise Portal, developed by Assam Electronics Development Corporation Limited or AMTRON, has won the SKOCH Award in the corporate excellence category in the highest rank of platinum.

The rank of platinum is considered as the top most framed rank of this prestigious award.

The award was presented on the occasion of the 58th edition of the SKOCH Award ceremony held in New Delhi on Saturday, say media reports.

SKOCH group chairman Samir Kocchar handed over the award to the chairman of AMTRON and AGP MLA Ramendra Narayan Kalita, the managing director of AMTRON, Mahendra Kumar Yadava and the commissioner of Excise, Assam.

The Excise department has been successfully converted into a paperless one under the leadership of state excise minister Parimal Suklabaidya.

The SKOCH Award ceremony was organized by SKOCH Group, a think-tank dealing with socio-economic issues with a focus on inclusive growth since 1997.

SKOCH Group is also known for instituting India’s highest independent civilian honours in the field of governance, finance, technology, economics and social sector.
