This year’s Padmashree Award winner Uddhab Bharali has been conferred the D. Sc. (honoris causa) by the Dibrugarh University in recognition of his invaluable scholarly contribution to the field of science, innovation and social welfare through the works of innovation and invention.

This has been stated in a letter vide No RU/RG/Convo/19/3169 dated 13th March, 2019 by Dr H C Mahanta, registrar, Dibrugarh University to Padmashree Bharali.
The degree will be conferred on him on Monday during the XVIII convocation of the university by its vice chancellor in presence of Vice President of India M Venkaiah Naidu.
Earlier on Tuesday, Uddhab Bharali, the man of more than 150 incredible innovations and designs received this year’s Padmashree Award.
Bharali became the first person from Lakhimpur district to get a Padmashree, the fourth highest civilian honour of the country.
A recipient of number of national and international awards including the President’s National Grassroots Innovation Award in 2009 and NASA tech brief Create the Future Design contest – 2013, Padmashree is the latest feather in his cap.
