Yoga camp in dibrugarh

Swami Shivananda Yogajyoti Mahavidyalaya, organized a mass-yoga camp at Maijan TE community hall on Sunday under Lahoal Development Block of Dibrugarh district in connection as part of the forthcoming 4th International Yoga Day to be held on 21st June 2018.

This noble attempt of yoga teaching for tea garden community  is part of PM’s slogan of ‘Hum fit to India fit’.

Around 100 people participated in the camp.

The camp was promoted by Indian Yoga Culture and Yoga Therapy Centre, Guwahati and affiliated to Srimanta Sankardeva University of Health Sciences, Assam.

The camp was inaugurated by lighting of lamp by Dr. Minu Buragohain, Principal of the yoga college along with Rekha Sharma Baruah, Secretary, Sonu Roy, Director of Yoga College, Bandana Borbora, Welfare officer of Maijan TE and others.

Mantu Sonowal and Utpal Baruah yoga teachers of the college were the main instructors during the camp.

The camp was organized with active initiatives of Sobesh Tanti, student of the college along with office bearers from Maijan Branch of Assam Tea Tribes Students Association, Suraj Tanti, Harikanta Sawanchi, Purotom Karmakar and others.

The guest present while speaking on the occasion said in present scenario everyone is busy, full of stress and there is lot of adulteration among various commodities which leads to unhealthy lifestyle and multiple diseases in the common man.

“In today’s scenario if someone wants to lead a healthy life style one has to adopt regular yoga and exercise on daily basis”, they asserted.

The programme also included yoga demonstration by students of Shivananda Yoga Studio and felicitation of four Kick Boxers of
Maijan area who won medals in a National kick Boxing championship held in Rajasthan recently.
