Union Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Col Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore on May 21 started a fitness campaign called #HumFitTohIndiaFit.

He posted a video of himself on social media, doing push-ups in his office. He also thanked the Prime Minister for inspiring him to stay fit.

He urged his followers on Twitter to post pictures and videos of them engaged in activities to keep themselves fit.

In response to his challenge politicians, sports persons and Bollywood stars posted videos of themselves engaged in activities to keep themselves fit. In a short time the campaign has gone viral with videos and photos flooding the Union Minister’s Twitter handle.

Union Minister of State for Home, Kiren Rijiju was one of the earliest participant to post a video on his official Twitter handle exercising.

Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Pema Khandu in response to the challenge posted a video of himself running to keep himself fit.

Chief Minister of Meghalaya Conrad Sangma posted a photo of himself trekking  from Chandigre village in West Garo Hills to Daribokgre village on the foothills of Nokrek in East Garo Hills, about 9 kms.

Chief Minister of Manipur Nongthombam Biren Singh posted a video of himself using an exercise cycle to keep fit.

Chief Minister of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio posted a video of himself playing badminton.

Chief Minister of Tripura Biplab Kumar Deb posted a video of himself doing push-ups.

Actor and Assam Tourism Ambassador Priyanka Chopra also posted a photo of herself in a gym.

Not to be left behind, star sportspersons from the Northeast also took up the challenge.

Ace Olympic gymnast Dipa Karmakar also joined in the challenge.

Ace Manipuri boxer mary kom also joined in the challenge with a video of boxing.

Not only high profile people but common men also enthusiastically joined the fitness challenge. The challenge isn’t about doing a 10k run, lifting weights or doing a handstand instead it is a call to take up any physical activity, that keeps you fit.
