Assam’s river island district of Majuli is all set to celebrate World Yoga Day on June 21 next along with the entire country and the entire world.

The Majuli district administration is engaged in brisk preparations to observe the day in a befitting manner.  On Thursday, an official administrative level meeting was convened at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office to discuss the preparations for observing World Yoga day in the district level.

Officials from all the state government departments were present in the meeting.

Several yoga trainers and organizations involved in practicing yoga in the district also took part in the meeting.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Naren Das chaired the meeting where the other ADC Chinmay Nath, Election Officer, in-charge Deputy Inspector of Schools and block development officer Magen Narah, in-charge elementary education officer Achyut Barua, Assistant commissioner Nitisha Bora, deputy superintendent of police Deepjyoti Talukdar, assistant commander of CRPF along with other dignitaries from health department of the State were present in the meeting.
