Sanjib Gohain, a student of Assam Engineering College (AEC), has been able to get his name entered into the India Book of Records, with his poetry titled ‘Bhalpowa Enekoiye’.

Gohain has brought laurels to Assam after being honoured as the ‘Young Assamese Poet’ in the national level.

Sanjib Gohain, who studied B.Tech. (H) in Civil Engineering at Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Management and Technology (GIMT) Tezpur, is currently studying M.Tech. in Water Resources Engineering at Assam Engineering College, Guwahati.

A former Graduate Teaching Assistant at Assam Engineering College, Guwahati, Gohain hails from Dhemaji district of Assam.

He cleared his Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination from Gurukul Grammar Senior Secondary School, Guwahati and did schooling from Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya at Dhemaji.

The collection of poems by Gohain, which have been published in various newspapers and magazines, was brought out by Studio Resolution, a publication based in Nagaon district of Assam in 2017.

A brilliant student and poet Gohain cleared Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2019 recently.

He is the son of Surjya Kumar Gohain and Binu Rajkhowa Gohain from Dhemaji’s Gohain Gaon.
