“He was rescued by the railway police when they found him lying in a semi-conscious condition in his seat of Rajendra Express, a Guwahati-Rajasthan train,” informed Sayed Ali, father of Mostofa, who brought his son back home on Wednesday from Alipurduar.
Police doubt that the boy was drugged by the traffickers.
Sayed Ali further reported that when the police tried to rescue the boy, a Hindi-speaking family, a woman and two men, stopped the police by saying that Mostofa had looted their belongings and they would take him to Katihar, to their native town, and hand over him to police there.

At this, the police insisted the family to come down and file a complaint at Alipurduar junction. But taking the pretext of the darkness and busy junction, the family disappeared from the station.
Later, police collected the home address of Mostofa and informed it to his father.
