Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has ordered a probe into the death of Lance Naik Sukleswar Kathar, whose bullet-riddled body was found in the official of the Chief Minister in Kharghuli on Sunday evening.

The bullet-riddled body of the Assam police jawan was recovered from the security barrack attached Brahmaputra Guest House at Kharghuli, which has been used by the CM as his official residence.

The body of Lance Naik Sukleswar Kathar had six bullets hit in the body, which were fired from his service AK 47 rifle.

Though it has been reported that Kathar committed suicide by firing with his service rifle, the Guwahati Police Commissioner said it is yet to be confirmed whether the police jawan committed suicide or not.

PC Haloi, who recently took charge as the Police Commissioner of Guwahati, reportedly said, “It would be tough to comment at this moment whether it is a case of suicide or some other people are involved in the death of the policeman.”
