Sensation prevails following recovery of the bullet-ridden body of an armed Assam Police constable this evening in the police barrack of the official residence of Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal in Guwahati.
The Brahmaputra Guest House at Kharghuli in the city is being used by the Assam Chief Minister as his official residence.
The policeman, who received serious bullet injuries, was immediately rushed to the Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital (MMCH) at Panbazar in the city, but the doctors in the hospital declared him brought dead.
The policeman has been identified as Sukleshwar Kathar.
It has been suspected that Kathar committed suicide by firing self with his service AK 47 rifle.
As per media reports, the deceased was serving as a constable in the armed force of Assam Police and was engaged in the security of Assam Chief Minister Sonowal.
The other security personnel reportedly heard three rounds fired in the police barrack and rushed to the spot where they found the bullet-ridden body of Kathar.
