The 15-year-old student of Sankardev Sishu Niketan had escaped home on Saturday after his parents denied him from playing online video games.
His parents later filed a complaint of their missing son in the local police station.
After running away from home, the boy reached Guwahati and had gone to the LGBI airport to buy a ticket to travel to Mumbai.
Meanwhile, a police team led by ACP Pranjal Bora who had launched a search operation for the missing boy had managed to rescue him at the airport while he was buying a ticket for travelling to Mumbai.
Online video games have been a craze among youngsters in India and have been keeping them hooked to mobile phones for long hours.
It may be mentioned that in June this year, a 15-year-old boy from Guwahati had committed suicide after being denied to play PUBG by his mother.
The mother had locked away her son’s cell phone in a fit of rage after being fed up of his addiction for playing online video games.
While she was away from home, the boy committed suicide by hanging himself.
