In a shocking incident, three people fell sick after drinking packaged water bottles from Aqua Delight label at Biswanath Chariali on May 8.
The incident came to light when one Hafiz Mandal purchased a bottle from the same label and found moss in the water bottle at a Pan shop in Biswanath Chariali’s, Balipukhuri. Meanwhile, several unhygienic packaged water bottles were also recovered at Kharupetia in Darrang district.

The Aqua Delight company is located at Kharupetia in Darrang district.
Locals alleged that the greedy officials of Assam Public Health Engineering department and Food and Civil Supply department of Assam did not give any importance to control these companies.

A local said, “It would be better to term the drinking water provided by the company as killing water.”
Hafiz Mandal told Northeast Now that he had already lodged a complaint under Consumer Protection Act, 1986 against the company in the office of Food and Civil Supply department at Biswanath Chariali.
As per reports the owner of Aqua Delight planned to change the company’s brand name.
