The office of the Hojai branch of Sahara India was locked by its agents and some of its customers on Monday.
The office was locked by the agents and customers at around 12:30 pm due to non-payment of the customers’ deposited money and agents’ commission.
The agents and customers locked the office as a mark of their protest against Sahara India authority.
The protest was at Assam’s Hojai participated by agents namely, Pukraj Jain, Radheshyam Gupta, Samar Dey, Bappa Nandi, Kishor Gupta, Ratan Dutta, Abhimanyu Singh, Bhupendar Singh, Sushil Singh, SK Chauhan, Ashim Das, GD Sharma and many other customers.
The agitating agents said, “We have locked the office of the Hojai branch of Sahara India today to showcase our protest against non-payment of our customers’ deposited money and our commission.”
The agents also alleged, “The branch manager and other employees of the Hojai branch have never shown interest in solving our grievances. Even the head office is not interested to solve our problems.”
“The customers on daily basis ask us about payment of their deposited money, but we have no answer for them. This has created a major trouble for us. The higher authorities are also not interested to listen to our issues,” the agents said.
They further said that their protest will continue until their grievances are not heard and solved.
Branch manager Nayan Goswami said, “I have tried to convince each of the agents that their problems will be solved at the earliest, but even after my request the agents of Sahara India’s Hojai branch locked the office of the branch today.”
The manager further said, “I have informed the high authorities about the situation.”
There are a total of 55 agents under Hojai branch of Sahara India.
