First Lady of Arunachal Pradesh, Neelam Mishra, on Saturday joined the valedictory function of 4th Annual College Day celebration of Binni Yanga Government Women’s College, in its campus at Lekhi near here. Speaking on the occasion, the First Lady exhorted the students to cultivate lofty goals and excel in life.
She advised them to have wider vision and work for and promote social welfare activities in addition to excelling in their studies.

Neelam lauded the need for the women to be educated and stressed on the virtues of educated women, as they are the ones who educate the progenies of state and nation.
Recalling the contributions of Padma Shree Late Binni Yanga towards women education, she called upon the students to emulate Late Yanga and contribute positively towards well-being of all.
Further while expressing concerns about women literacy in the state, the First Lady called upon students to ensure that every girl child is sent to school.

“Let us work for ‘Nari Shakti’ and realize the goal of cent percent woman literacy in our state Arunachal Pradesh,” she said.
Earlier College principal Dr Aruna Gyati Lod highlighted the challenges and achievements of the only Government Women’s college of Arunachal Pradesh.
Later, the First Lady presented the prizes to the winners of various events organised during the session which was followed by a colourful cultural programme presented by the students.
