Krishti Kendra in association with the Kristi Kendra Music Academy organized a solemn function in Naharlagun on Saturday on the 92nd birth anniversary of the balladeer.
At the very outset, candles and earthen lamps were lit on the premises of the Kristi Kendra to mark the occasion while floral tributes were offered by hosts of the admirers of the Assam Ratna at the portrait of Dr Bhupen Hazarika in the premises of Kristi Kendra.

Later young and old artistes of the town including enthusiastic children sang several popular songs of the music maestro much to enjoyment of the present gathering.
Those who gathered on the occasion expressed happiness that Kristi Kendra and Kristi Kendra Music Academy of Naharlagun are keeping alive the rich cultural heritage that Dr Bhupen Hazarika propagated to bind the entire north-eastern region.
Some the elderly people gathered on the occasion recollected the timeless songs that Dr Hazarika had composed on various geographical locations, cultural heritage and tribes; and historic events associated with the state of Arunachal Pradesh.
