A devastating incident caused the deaths of two persons while leaving eight critically injured in a road accident near Kimi in West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh according to a report in The Northeast Today.

The tragedy occurred when an ill-fated Tata sumo bearing registration no AS 12C 8235 fell on the downwards slope of the road in the hill at around 11:30 am on Wednesday near Bailey bridge in Kimi under Thrizino circle as informed by Superintendent of Police, West Kameng, Raja Bantia.

Those killed are two passengers, one man and a woman, while eight others were rushed to Bhalukpong PHC and later shifted to Tezpur in Assam.

The deceased have been identified as Sonam Tshering, 44 and the woman as Pema Yangzom, 40.

A case has been registered at Thrizino Police Station and an investigation into the mishap and its cause has been initiated, noted the SP.
