A Mi-17 chopper of the Indian Air Force made an emergency landing in West Tuting of Arunachal Pradesh’s Upper Siang district due to technical snag.

The chopper was on the way in a routine mission from Tuting IAF Advanced Landing Ground towards Jorhat of Assam, but it had to be force-landed in West Tuting, said Shillong-based IAF PRO, Wing Commander Ratnakar Singh.
Wing Commander Singh also informed that the chopper had 16 personnel on board.
However, he said, “All 16 personnel on board are safe.”

He further informed that it was a regular sorties today from Jorhat IAF Station.
“The problem occurred while the chopper was on its return journey from Tuting,” Singh added.
Meanwhile, official sources at Upper Siang district also confirmed that the chopper had to be force-landed due to technical snag.
