Arunachal Pradesh has registered two more new COVID19 positive cases on Saturday, taking the state’s overall tally to 49.

According to the latest bulletin on Arunachal Pradesh’s COVID19 status, released by the state health department, on Saturday 446 samples were tested, out of which two tested positive for COVID19.

In Arunachal Pradesh, a total of 11,261 samples have been collected, out of which 49 samples tested positive, 9,250 samples tested negative while results of 1,841 samples are awaited.

Arunachal Pradesh’s first COVID19 positive was discharged from the hospital in April after his recovery.

The active COVID19 cases in Arunachal Pradesh now stand at 48.

Informing about the state’s latest COVID19 status on Saturday, Dr L. Jampa, state surveillance officer-IDSP, directorate of health services, said: “Today, 2 new COVID19 positive cases have been reported, taking the total cases in Arunachal Pradesh to 49, with 48 active cases and 1 recovered.”

The top health official informed that the new positive cases are from Changlang and East Siang districts.

“The newly detected positive cases are in district Changlang (1) and East Siang (1),” he stated.

Dr Jampa informed that both the infected patients have been “shifted to Covid care Center. they were detected in facility Quarantine.”

On Saturday, India surpassed Spain to become the fifth worst-hit nation by the COVID19 pandemic, after a record spike in cases for four consecutive days pushed total infections in the country to over 2,43,733, according to the Johns Hopkins University data.

As per the Union Health Ministry data, India has registered a record single-day spike of 9,887 cases and 294 deaths by Saturday, pushing the tally to 2,36,657 and the death toll to 6,642.

India has registered over 9,000 COVID19 positive cases for the third day in a row.
