Setting an example for others to emulate, Arunachal Pradesh governor Brig (Retd) BD Mishra and First Lady Neelam Misra on Friday went through the thermal scanning process at the Gumto check gate near Itanagar.
The first couple was on their way back to Itanagar from Assam.
The scanning process has been initiated following the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
The governor, meanwhile, has appreciated the medical officers and staff deployed at several entry points of the state for doing their duty well.
Exhorting them to keep up the noble work, Mishra said “because of the dedication and sincere efforts of these people, the police and state’s civil administration, the state will fully succeed in combating COVID-19 and ensure the wellness of the citizens.”
The governor further appealed the people to cooperate with the medical and police teams and undergo the requisite thermal scanning checks before entering the state.
It may be mentioned that in the wake of the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19), the Arunachal Pradesh government decided to suspend issuing temporary or provisional Inner Line Permit (ILP) and e-ILP in the state.
On Tuesday, the state government ordered the suspension of issuing temporary or provisional ILP and e-ILP in the state.
All ILP issuing authorities in the state and out of the state have been directed to suspend issuing of ILP and e-ILP until further order.
The authority also closed down the weekly markets in order to prevent mass gathering.
However, the authority will continue renewal of regular ILP as usual.
