Chowna Mein-led team visits Assam-Arunachal border in Seijosa

Arunachal Pradesh deputy chief minister Chowna Mein led a high-level team to Western Arunachal along the Arunachal-Assam border to take stock of the situation and preparedness on COVID19 pandemic.

The 6-member team visited Seijosa in Pakke Kesang district and reviewed the overall situation with the district administration and health department officials.

The team had discussions on the latest situation in view of the COVID19 pandemic and the steps taken to face any issue.

Mein said, “Coronavirus is not to go away; so we must learn to live with it,” adding, “The danger of the virus is far from over and constant vigilance is of paramount importance.”

“On the health front, we are making all arrangements to fight the COVID19,” said Mein.

He said, “This is the most difficult and unprecedented time.”

“With the mantra of Team Arunachal and with combined efforts from all parties, stakeholders and people, we can combat the crisis and overcome the situation,” he added.

Mein appreciated and lauded the efforts of the doctors, nurses, police, district administration officials, paramedics and cleanliness workers for working with a sense of dedication at the hour of crisis.

He urged the people to properly follow the SOPs, new guidelines set by the state and central governments on COVID19, strictly maintain social distancing, wear masks and avoid spitting in public places.

Disaster management secretary Dani Salu called for proper utilization of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) for fight against COVID19.

Seijosa additional deputy commissioner TR Tapu briefed the high-level team on implementation status of various welfare schemes launched by the state government and the Centre in view of COVID19 situation.

The team also inspected the inter-state check gate along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border and the designated quarantine centres in Seijosa.

Other members in the high-level team included health minister Alo Libang, Lok Sabha MP Tapir Gao, MLA Namsai Chau Zingnu Namchoom, state BJP president (Pakke Kesang MLA) Biyuram Wahge and secretary DM Dani Salu.

Due to inclement weather condition, the team could not reach Bhalukpong on Tuesday.
