Jolted by the deplorable results in the examinations this year, the East Kameng Social Welfare and Cultural Organization (EKSWCO) on Wednesday adopted several resolutions for improvement of education system, especially of government schools in the district.

The stern result-oriented initiatives were taken at a day-long coordination meeting with district administration, SMC chairpersons, principals, parents/guardians and teachers at Anne Donyi Nyelle Lapang hall in Seppa of the district on Wednesday

The meeting was held following poor performance of government schools in the class X and class XII examinations, 2018 in the district.

The meeting decided that monthly parent-teacher meet will be held in government schools besides counseling programme for the students.

The meeting also resolved to ban use of mobile phone in schools.

Some of the other resolutions taken in Wednesday’s meetings included strengthening of school management committees, re-evaluation of Anganwadi workers’ qualification and adherence to proper procedure i.

EKSWCO also appealed to the parents and guardians for proper parenting of their wards at home and also requested all the teachers to be sincere in their duties.

The Deputy Commissioner of East Kameng district, Gaurav Singh Rajawat, also offered quite a few suggestions to improve the education system in the district and said that he is ready to implement the resolutions taken by the EKSWCO.

The Deputy Director of Secondary Education (DDSE) Duken Kato was also present in the meeting.
