Dibrugarh: Three more National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN) cadres were apprehended by security forces from different areas of Arunachal Pradesh over the past few days.
Security forces have launched massive counter-insurgency operations in eastern Arunachal Pradesh to flush out insurgents.
Based on credible inputs, security forces launched intensive operations against NSCN cadres along the Indo-Myanmar border.
The insurgent cadres have been identified as SS Lt. Bewang Tangha, an active cadre of NSCN (KYA); Manseng Jugli of NSCN (KYA); and Kamnong Pangtha of NSCN-KK.
Taking to X, Arunachal Pradesh Police wrote: โBased on credible inputs, security forces conducted intensive operations along the Indo-Myanmar border over the past 4โ5 days. On 29 Apr 2026, it led to the successful apprehension of SS Lt. Bewang Tangha, an active cadre of NSCN (KYA).โ
โActing on credible input, an operation in New Putok village on 27 Apr 2026 led to the arrest of Manseng Jugli, an active NSCN (IM) cadre.
Further investigation resulted in the apprehension of Kamnong Pangtha (NSCN-KK) member. A case has been registered at Nampong PS.โ
โWe have launched operations against insurgents and so far, several cadres belonging to NSCN have been apprehended and sent to jail. Our crackdown against insurgency will continue,โ said a police official.
Recently, in a joint operation, security forces apprehended three hardcore cadres of the NSCN-K (Nikki Sumi) faction in Arunachal Pradeshโs Tirap district on Friday.
The cadres have been identified as Wingan Agan (33), Jhonny Riba (21), and Rajapeyu Khechan Khetey (30).
โAfter receiving specific intelligence inputs, a joint operation was launched by Assam Rifles and Arunachal Pradesh Police in the general area of Wancho Colony in Khonsa, leading to the apprehension of three hardcore NSCN-K (Nikki Sumi) cadres along with arms and ammunition,โ said an official.
Two 7.65 mm pistols with magazines, nine live rounds of 7.65 mm ammunition, three mobile phones, three SIM cards, three GPRN letters, and brown sugar worth Rs 500 were recovered from their possession.
